Read Across America

This year our school continued the tradition of celebrating Dr. Suess’ birthday with the celebration of Read Across America Week. O’Melveny students had a blast! The week began with a wonderful assembly led by Ms. Taylor’s class. The students were able to snap fun photos at the Read Across America Selfie Station. The students also had fun honoring their favorite Dr. Seuss’ book titles with daily activities such as: dressing up with a twin for Thing 1 and Thing 2, wearing crazy socks for Fox in Socks, and Crazy Hat Day for The Cat in the Hat. The fun continued as the 4th & 5th graders buddied up to read books to the primary classes. Each day they were enlightened as they heard short biographies of their favorite authors read aloud on the intercom. The week ended with engaging recess activities and the winner of the Door Decorating Contest, Mrs. Salas! This was a busy week! Keep on reading, O’Melveny Scholars!
